When Kevin discovers that Harry is living at the office, Harry confesses he's had a fight with his wife, so Kevin says Harry can stay at his and Jamie's place. At first the guys think Harry's pretty cool, a man after their own heart, but very soon he becomes annoying with his snoring, hogging the bathroom, flirting with Brenda and endless commenting on the subtext of Kevin and Sarah's conversations. Kevin and Jamie do everything in their power to let Harry know it's time to leave, but he's oblivious; they even resort to poisoning him with some leftover salmon that's been in the refrigerator for weeks. Kevin finally tells Harry they want him out, and he agrees to leave that night. But the guys feel guilty and go to Harry's house to apologize; they learn that the real reason Harry didn't want to be at home was that this mother-in-low was visiting

When Sarah complains to Kevin that they never spend any time with her friends, he decides to throw her a birthday party, invite all her friends and kill two birds with one stone. Kevin knows that if Jamie comes the party will be a disaster, so he persuades Brenda to ask Jamie out on a date to keep him away. Kevin finds Sarah's Rolodex and uses it in making out the invitation list. Jamie is overjoyed that he and Brenda are going out, but is sure he'll be missed at the party. When she arrives at the party, Sarah is horrified to see that Kevin has invited all the people she wants out of her life (the Rolodex Kevin found was one that Sarah had thrown away after taking out the numbers she wanted to keep.) Jamie completely misinterprets Brenda's motives for the date and is sure she wants to sleep with him; Brenda wastes no time in setting him straight.

After some second thoughts they take the test and discover they're both geniuses; later it's revealed that the test was designed for children K-6. Jamie decides to bug Brenda's apartment so he can find out what Brenda and Simon talk about when they're together. Jamie gives Brenda a plant that he's bugged, and chaos ensues when Brenda realizes he's been spying on her.
