But before shipping out, Mark is introduced to Dori Lawrence (Rachael Leigh Cook) by a mutual friend, and the two make a perfect match of misfits. Dori is a schizophrenic actress who has left the bright lights of Hollywood to fix her life and mental illness. The outcast lovers - with more than a dose of humor - cling to their romance in spite of the obstacles from authorities and circumstances which stand in their way.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Of course, those very relationships are insisting the young couple stay as far apart as possible; Mrs. Hagen (Diane Venora), head of Dori's halfway house, is particularly insistent.
