His destiny: to assume the throne in place of his brother, Louis, who is manipulated by Fouquet (Patrick McGoohan). Both the captain of the musketeers, D'Artagnan (Louis Jourdan), and Colbert (Sir Ralph Richardson), the king's Minister for Home Affairs, are determined that France has her real King, and plan to restore the wilting fortunes of the throne by substituting Philippe for the King. The plan succeeds. Phillipe is thoroughly schooled in the ways of the King and, on the night of a grand cost&lt;/p&gt;</description>
