From the shadows emerges Ryan holding a gun, the barrel of which is pointed straight at Erica. A moment later, Ryan pulls the trigger. Now, we are to presume he's shooting at Erica, but my guess is he was probably shooting a V or someone else in the vicinity. Guess we'll see since we're informed that this happens 14 hours in the future. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of these kind of set ups since most of the time the pay-off is cheesy and gimmicky. Show runners Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson aren't content with simply spinning their wheels.</p> <p>This is the story of Mystic Falls and its inhabitants&mdash; living and undead. There's a lot of moving pieces to this story and boy are they moving.
