Mother Superior assigns Sr. Bertrille to help accident-prone Bro. Paul put the convent library in order. Bro. Paul wistfully tells Sr. Bertrille he had hoped to spend his life at the Vatican Library but things hadn't worked out. He sorts out the books to be discarded into a separate pile. Then he puts the shelves in the sun, with his magnifying glass on top. When he pulls out a big nail, Bro. Paul finds some valuable old parchments in the wall. For safe keeping, he puts them in an encyclopedia, which finds its way onto the discard pile. The magnifying glass starts a fire, burning up the bookshelves. Sr. Bertrille swaps the discarded books for new shelves with Swapping Salvador.
