Joe Cortez, (LEWIS VAN BERGEN), a crazed mobster, escapes from a hospital for the criminally insane. He seeks revenge against thebounty hunters who arrested him, Reno Raines and Bobby Six Killer. With fellow inmate Stump Holden (DAVID DRUMMOND), Cortez robs a sporting goods store for clothing, weapons and money. Then he contacts Denny "Pecs" Carson (NILS ALLEN STEWART), an underworld forger, to supply new identification cards. When Reno and Bobby learn of the escape, they vow to capture Cortez before he can fulfill his promise to kill them. After their criminal informant, J.J. Styles (HECTOR MERCADO), directs them to Carson, the forger reveals Cortez's hideout. But Reno and Bobby's surprise attack on the abandoned warehouse fails. The madmen escape, and Bobby is severely wounded.
