Alexander's Ragtime Band offers a star-studded cast (Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Don Ameche, and Ethel Merman) in a sumptuous showcase for 29 fantastic Irving Berlin tunes, including the title song, "A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody," "Blue Skies," and "Pack Up Your Sins and Go to the Devil." The music begins rolling in San Francisco, where classically trained violinist Roger Grant (Tyrone Power) flouts his aristocratic family conventions to take up ragtime. He starts a band with composer Charlie Dwyer (Don Ameche) and singer Stella Kirby (Alice Faye). Over the next 30 years, two members of this triangle fall in love, a different two get married, one goes away to war, and the band breaks up and gets back together again. The lead role is based on the lives of George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Paul Whiteman. Sharpshooter and star of Colonel Buffalo Bill's Show, Frank Butler (Howard Keel) falls for the spirited Annie Oakley (Betty Hutton) until she provokes him into a clay pigeon shooting competition. Unfortunately, Annie is left to realize a man isn't always interested in a woman who can beat him at his own game. The film is based on Irving Berlin's play and contains the songs "Anything You Can Do," "Doin' What Comes Naturally," and "There's No Business Like Show Business." Winner of the 1951 Academy Award for Best Music and Scoring of a Musical Picture. It should be noted that Judy Garland was originally cast to star in Annie Get Your Gun, but fell ill and was replaced by Betty Hutton.

When a marriage-shy girl falls in love with her psychoanalyst, the result is one of the wittiest, most enjoyable of all the Fred Astaire- Ginger Rogers classics! The story revolves around the fickle Amanda Cooper (Rogers) who has postponed her wedding so often that her fiancee (Ralph Bellamy) sends her best friend Tony Flagg (Astaire), a psychoanalyst, to treat her. In spite of hypnosis and assorted other wacky attempts at remedies, Amanda falls in love with Tony, and the rest is musical-comedy history. The dance numbers, choreographed by Astaire and Hermes Pan, a dazzling beyond belief particularly Astaire's astonishing golf-routine!
