As I prepped for tonights episode it suddenly hit me that for the last fifteen years ER has been a part of my life next September it wont be I guess that its true that all good things must come to an end and with that in mind tonights tragic loss was a fitting though truly sad beginning to the final leg of this journeyGreg Pratt wasnt always an easy character to love or even like for that matter However over the years Pratt matured from a brash headstrong know-it-all into a poised and gifted doctor and a beloved character in the ER It was a fitting tribute that so many of the people he worked with mentored and loved were a part of his final moments As Neela Gates Abby Sam and Morris all valiantly tried to save his life in the wake of the ambulance explosion the most gut-wrenching scene for me was when the severity of his injuries became clear and the tears streamed down his face while his friends desperately tried to help him I imag

Anthony Edwards wants him back, the producers want him back, but the chance of George Clooney returning to ER for its 15th and final season remains nebulous, with conflicting statements from the actor and his publicist emerging in recent days. "I've never been asked or approached by anyone from the show about doing an episode of ER," Clooney told Extra on Wednesday. Yet, Reuters reported Monday that the actor has no such plans to ever make a comeback to County General. "He is on record as saying he is not coming back," said Clooney's publicist, Stan Rosenfield. "It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies."Earlier this week TVGuide.com reported that producers have storylines all set for the return of Clooney as Dr. Ross, Julianna Margulies as Carol and Eriq La Salle as Dr. Benton. The megastar’s publicist says no — but when Dr. Ross returned in 2000 for the departure of Julianna Margulies’ Carol Hathaway, the scene remained top secret until the day it aired.Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes. On September 10, executive producer John Wells lunched on the Warner Bros. lot with original ER stars Anthony Edwards (Dr. Greene) and Noah Wyle (Dr. Carter). Edwards appears in flashbacks on the November 13 show, and Wyle pops up in four of the final episodes. So of ER’s original six stars, that’s two returns down, three to go. Sorry, Sherry Stringfield. Now that Dr. Greene has agreed to scrub back in for the final season of ER, he is paging his old pal Dr. Ross to join him.Anthony Edwards, who agreed to appear in one episode of ER's final season, told Access Hollywood that his former costar George Clooney "would be a fool no to," come back to the show that launched his career for its sendoff.Edwards, who will return in a flashback since his character died of a brain tumor in the 2001-2002 season, isn't the only one trying to coax Clooney back. "I know they want to do everything they can to bring everybody back," he said of the producers. "But who knows what'll happen."So far, the only other originating cast member on board is Noah Wyle.
