Mismatching the two principal characters in a movie has become a comedy staple in Hollywood, and the tradition continues in director Les Mayfield's The Man. Andy Fidler (Eugene Levy) has a cheery outlook on life. Even a less than exciting job selling dental products can't wipe the smile from his face. But when he winds up in Detroit for a dental convention and is wrongly identified as an arms dealer, his smile is in danger of disappearing for good. Tough-as-nails cop Derrick Vann (Samuel L. Jackson) has set up an operation to catch the gang who run with the villain Fidler has been mistaken for. Eager to find him after the group of gun runners put a permanent end to his partner's career, Vann concocts a screwball scheme in which Fidler will impersonate the crook he resembles, while also trying to shake the Internal Affairs agents who are closely trailing him.

Peter Sanderson (Martin) is a divorced, straight-laced, uptight attorney who still loves his ex-wife (Smart) and can't figure out what he did wrong to make her leave him. However, Peter's trying to move on, and he's smitten with a brainy, bombshell barrister he's been chatting with on-line. However, when she comes to his house for their first face to face, she isn't refined, isn't Ivy League, and isn't even a lawyer. Instead, it's Charlene (Latifah), a prison escapee who's proclaiming her innocence and wants Peter to help clear her name. But Peter wants nothing to do with her, prompting the loud and shocking Charlene to turn Peter's perfectly ordered life upside down, jeopardizing his effort to get back with his wife and woo a billion dollar client (Plowright). In the end, our unlikely pair has the chance to put each other's lives on higher ground... if they don't end up bringing down the house.

In Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Tom Baker (Steve Martin) and wife Kate (Bonnie Hunt), hoping to bring their family together for a memorable summer vacation, take their twelve offspring to rustic Lake Winnetka, Wisconsin their longtime family vacation home. But their retreat soon turns cutthroat when they enter into a competition with the over-achieving members of a large family headed by Tom s longtime rival, Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy).

The story follows twin sisters Jane and Roxy Ryan, two twins with opposing personalities. Jane (Ashley Olsen) is an academic obsessed with order and planning, while Roxy (Mary-Kate Olsen) is a school truant who is only interested in rock music and her band, in which she is the drummer. The plot of the film happens over the course of one day. Jane's goal is to get to Columbia University in New York City in order to make a presentation at a scholarship competition. Roxy's goal is to skip school and attend the production of a Simple Plan music video, which also happens to be taking place in New York; however, she is followed by truancy officer Max Lomax (Eugene Levy). Due to a series of unfortunate incidents, the twins become involved with a piracy ring and must avoid both Lomax and this criminal gang and still make it to the University on time to make the speech. Through the series of misadventures, the twins come to realize that they have been allowing their relationship to drift apart

The deranged-looking monster teddy bear that befriends a lonely child is real, the voiceover that sounds like the director;s dad helping out with his son;s high school film project is real, and the movie is really playing at Cannes (albeit on the screen of a minivan parked outside a theater).Also, Euegene Levy truly couldn;t say no to having a vial of acid thrown in his face.
