It's holiday time and the staff of "TGS with Tracy Jordan" is having their annual "Ludachristmas" party -- complete with music, merriment, "The Human Table" and a Horny Santa. Unfortunately, Tracy (Tracy Morgan) can't participate due to his newly court mandated alcohol monitoring bracelet. Since holidays mean special family time, Liz's (Tina Fey) parents, Dick (Guest star Buck Henry) and Margaret (Guest star Anita Gillette) Lemon, and her 40-year-old brother Mitch (Guest star Andy Richter), who suffers from memory loss due to a skiing accident and thinks he is a 17-year-old high school senior, come to gloat over their "beautiful genius" daughter. Jack's (Alec Baldwin) jaded mother, Colleen (Guest star Elaine Stritch), even shows up unexpectedly from Florida. The Lemons and the Donaghys go to dinner together, where Colleen spends the night trying to break the eternal optimism of the Lemon family. Nick Murder (James Gandolfini) is an ironworker who has been married for years to Kitty (Susan Sarandon), who works as a seamstress and is the mother of Nick's three daughters. While Nick loves his wife, his head is turned by Tula (Kate Winslet), a sexy salesgirl at a lingerie shop, and soon they're having a passionate affair. When Kitty finds out about Nick's infidelity, she becomes enraged and kicks him out of the house, forcing him to decide what he really wants out of life and what is most important to him. Along the way, many of the characters in the film periodically turn to their favorite songs to explain and amplify their emotions, lip-synching along with the original recordings. Ray and his buddies concoct a scheme to rob a bank by digging a tunnel from a defunct pizza place next door; as a cover, Frenchy opens a cookie shop in the storefront while Ray and company dig in the back. Ray's burglary is a failure, but Frenchy's cookies are a rousing success, and within a year the store has spawned a nationwide franchise that makes the Winklers rich. However, while Ray wants to move to Miami and bask in the sun, nouveau riche Frenchy now aspires to join high society, with posh art dealer David (Hugh Grant) as her guide. A pair of grumpy old men hit the high seas in this comedy. Small-time con man Charlie (Walter Matthau) fast-talks his considerably more straight-laced friend Herb (Jack Lemmon) into joining him for a luxury cruise on an ocean liner headed to the Bahamas. Charlie tells Herb that the trip is free and will be a good way to meet rich widows; both parts are true enough, but Herb doesn't know that Charlie has signed them on as dance hosts (hence the free tickets), and Herb isn't sure if he's ready for romance after the recent death of his wife. As the men struggle with the fact that Herb isn't much of a hoofer (and Charlie can't dance at all) under the strict tutelage of cruise director Godwyn (Brent Spiner), Charlie starts sweet-talking beautiful heiress Liz (Dyan Cannon), while Herb finds a soul mate in Vivian (Gloria DeHaven), who lost her husband not long ago. Out to Sea also stars Elaine Stritch, Hal Linden, Rue McClanahan, and Donald O'Connor, who pulled his dancing shoes out of mothballs for his role. ~ Mark
