Nov 24 - Demonstrators wearing blood-smeared masks of the former British and U.S. leaders stage a protest at the start of an official inquiry into Britain's involvement in the Iraq war. The three masked protesters - representing former U.S. president George W. Bush, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and current Prime Minister Gordon Brown - are shown holding blood-smeared dollar bills. Demonstrators also held banners saying "No more whitewash" - alluding to fears that the inquiry will not be fair. The investigation, set up by Gordon Brown, is set to be the most comprehensive official examination so far into the country's involvement in the 2003 invasion and occupation of Iraq. Relatives of some of the British soldiers killed in the conflict and others accuse Tony Blair of taking the country into an illegal war and and deceiving the public.
