Richie still believes in Knox Pooley and his organization Pilgrims of Promise. However, with Vinnie's help, Richie is watching Pooley's assistant Calvin. Richie knows Calvin is a killer and is intent on helping Pooley get rid of him. Pooley arrives to do a television interview with Alexander Hardin and discovers that he is sharing the spotlight with a Jewish man, Himowitz, and a black man, McGill. During the show, Pooley spouts his racist point of view and is asked to leave. Calvin is upset, but Pooley claims he will make a log of money from the exposure. Calvin accosts Hardin in the rest room and kills him with a trophy just presented to Hardin on the air.
