Kovac clashes with Corday over the treatment of a patient who Corday suspects needs an appendectomy, and nurse Sam leaves her precocious son, Alex (recurring guest star OLIVER DAVIS), in the emergency room--where the boy gets an advanced education in medicine--for a day.
