Last week, breakout Australian duo Atlas Genius played a sold-out show at New York s Webster Hall as a part of MTV s Artist to Watch Live series. They treated the crowd and fans watching from home to a bevy of selections from their debut album, When It Was Now. Watch them perform five songs from the show, including their breakout single, Trojans. Singer Keith Jeffery tackles the song solo, but he wasn t just hogging the stage: a PA explosion during the band s set forced the duo to strip down their songs.

A couple weeks back we brought you an interview with Caveman, conducted during their Kidrockers show in Brooklyn. To recap: Kidrockers is a series of all-ages shows created to give parents and kids a chance to see cool concerts together. Past shows have included Bishop Allen, Real Estate, Neon Indian, Local Natives, Twin Shadow and Vivian Girls. Comedians Craig Baldo, Jordan Carlos, Patton Oswalt, Seth Herzog and Bobby Tisdale have all hosted the shows.Fourth grader (and, as you ll learn in this interview, future comedian) Leo Lorge returns for this interview with Sean Tillman, better known as Har Mar Superstar. Lorge asks about the origins of Tillman s stage name and appearing on TV, but once again this kid gets down to the one question we ve wanted answered since the first time we saw Har Mar make out with a girl onstage: Do you worry that the girls you kiss have husbands, or is that girl your girlfriend? In Guards new video for Ready to Go, the New York City psych-pop trio retreated to Austin, Texas for a shoot that s loosely inspired by the 1971 drama The Last Picture Show. The black-and-white clip is a stylized, throwback affair that hones in on fleeting innocence. The video ended up turning the song into a literal meaning, says Guards founder Richie Follin. It s kids being ready to go meaning, having sex. The video was directed by Guards vocalist/keyboardist Kaylie Church and Ryan Jackson-Healy. She says the video took about a day and a half to shoot. Watch the clip to catch kids playing spin the flashlight, but stick around for the very sweet ending. That was actually Richie s idea, Church says. We were doing this scene in the car and he took the kids off so they wouldn t get bored. He took them to get ice cream and then asked them to bring their cones back. That was a really spontaneous thing that ended up being a real key element to the video. Guards debut album, In Guards We Trust, is out now. Though Sara was a bit under-the-weather and limited on her vocals, there were many highlights, including a lovely version of Love They Say and a great rendition of their new single, Closer. Last Sunday, Tegan and Sara celebrated the release of their excellent new album Heartthrob by playing Artist to Watch s Live in Boston at the Brighton Music Hall. Hive streamed it. Tons of you showed up. It was a fantastic time. The sisters Quin even had a few tricks up their sleeves for this special show, including this performance of Heartthrob tune Love They Say. Here, they strip the song down to its bare-bones essentials. Though Tegan & Sara chose a poppy direction for Heartthrob (which is out today via Warner Bros.), this version makes it clear that their new material can exist in many forms.
