In the series finale, Sarah's class field trip is cancelled due to lack of funding, so Charles volunteers to direct a benefit show to raise the necessary money. At the same time, Charles finds out that he has to take an exam to get accepted at Princeton for his post-graduate work, and it happens to be on the same date as the benefit. Buddy fills in as director, but soon everyone realizes that he is not organized and cannot handle the job.
