The two gentlemen from LA CAGE AUX FOLLES are back! "Zaza" (Michel Serrault) thinks that he is no longer attractive to Renato (Ugo Tognazzi), and to make him jealous sets out to the local caf?, in magnificent "drag"--where "she" is promptly picked up by a spy who is fleeing from enemy agents. Soon "Zaza" is in possession of precious microfilm. To catch the bad guys, the French authorities decide to use "Zaza" and Renato as bait, and the couple are off to Italy--as man and wife. Renato's mother (Paola Borboni) lives in Italy and doesn't "know" (Mother will not be pleased by the appearance of her son's bride!) Having to contend with the evil goings-on, "Zaza" and Renato will, in their own riotous way, face down the villains. Music by Wnnio Morricone. Edouard Molinaro directed.

Two of Europe's most virile male stars, Michel Serrault and Ugo Tognazzi, portray two very flamboyant, aging gay gentlemen. Togazzi is the owner of a St. Tropez nightblub where the chief attration is a drag act performed by his lover, Serrault. Tognazzi has a son from a former marriage who is engaged to the daughter of a politician who is a very active vigilant member of the Union of Moral Order. The son has carefully hidden his father's true profession. But now the upright--and uptight--politician and his wife are coming for a social visit, and the future of Tognazzi's son's marriage is at stake. Tognazzi and Serrault desperately try to "butch up" their home and manners for the ensuing visit. The hilarious complications of the evening are (not quite) beyond belief...
