This very obscure title was Hoots last hurrah as a leading man, having not starred since his Monogram days back in 44. A mysterious bandit, El Coyote fights against outlaws trying to form a corrupt cattlemens association. Truthfully, this isnt all that good of a movie, but the card room scene with Brown, Foster, and Wakely is pretty amusing and its nice to see Hoot one last time. Anders had hips like Claudia Cardinale. 16mm.

(1935, Supreme) Johnny Mack Brown, Helen Ericson, Warner Richmond, Ed Cassidy. one of Johnny's very best. He plays an agent who's brought in to crack a ring of bandits that have been hiding out in the desert. It seems the thieves have been helping themselves to bullion shipments coming out of a local gold mine operated by the evil stepfather of Johnny's gal. A bizarr, almost horrific twist in the plotline has the bandits using wandering drifters lost in the desert for slave labor. One terrific scene has the half-mad captives revolting in a particularly maniacal manner. An intelligent script is complimented by the fine performances and plenty of action. Strongly recommended. From a 16mm original print.
