Danger Man: A Date With Doris

Patrick McGoohan, as Danger Man John Drake, goes to the Caribbean in "A Date With Doris" - but not to keep a date with a girl named Doris. The Doris of the title is a code reference to a submarine which is standing by to take off a British agent Drake has been sent to rescue after he had been framed for murder and is badly injured. To compensate for Doris being a submarine, this "Danger Man" episode provides strong feminine appeal in the attractive shape of Jane Merrow, portraying a gun- slinging revolutionary girl who has to be trusted if the injured man is to be helped. Ronald Itadd is the Revoluticraary rimy chief, with James Maxwell as the framed agent and Eric Pohlmann as Drake' s contact.

Revolution leaves its trail of emotion, fear and bitter?ness for many years after the fighting. The "Danger Man" episode "The Affair at Castelevara" is set in an hispanic country after a revolution when a defeated ex-leader returns to his former land under an assumed name, is arrested, and is sentenced to death. But both America and Britain have reasons for trying to prevent his execution, and Patrick MeGoohan, as John Drake, and Charles Tingwell, as an American agent, join forces to save him. The feminine lead is a striking young British actress named Sonia Fox, who won this role after playing a small part in a previous "Danger Man" episode, and other major roles arc played by Aubrey Morris, David Saire, Richard Leech, Andre More11, Brian Worth and Eric Pohlmann.
